Sylvia Lipscomb Obituary

Our beloved Sylvia Trent Lipscomb, 66, of Powhatan went to be with her Lord Sunday, November 9, 2003. She is survived by her devoted husband of 47 years, Rawdin B. Lipscomb; seven loving children and their spouses, Cherl and Ronnie Jessie, Cindy and Paul Simons, Robin Lipscomb, Dale and Judy Lipscomb, Wendy and Joe Hodges, Chris and Teresa Lipscomb and Todd Lipscomb; five grandchildren and three step-grandchildren, all remain close and live in Powhatan; two sisters, Edith Bowman of Phenix and Carolyn Meadows of West Virginia; four nieces and two nephews. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, 3215 Anderson Hwy (Rt. 60), Powhatan. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Graceland Baptist Church Cemetery, Powhatan.

CHRIS & TREE, CHRIS I AM SO SORRY ABOUT YOUR MOM. I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT YOU EVER SINCE I HEARD AND WOULD LIKE TO BEEN THERE FOR YOU AND TREE,BUY I KNOW YOU BOTH UNDERSTAND. IT WASN'T THAT LONG AGO THAT YOU AND TREE WAS HELPING ME AND DAWN THRU A VERY SIMILIAR SITUATION,AND FOR THAT I THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU ARE BOTH GOOD FRIENDS. TO THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY I AM SO VERY SORRY. SOME OF YOUR SISTERS I HAVE MET AND TO ALL MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY. IF EITHER ONE OF YOU NEED ME FOR ANYTHING JUST LET ME KNOW. LOVE YOU VERY MUCH

To Dale, Judy, Dustin, Ferrin and the entire Lipscomb family: I am so sorry for your loss. Mrs. Lipscomb was a wonderful lady and I always enjoyed being around her at the holidays and family events.
