Dr. Fore...you met my puppy Jackson before you left us now Jackson's with you and his brothers and sisters. I have a new pup named Boz...he's no Jackson but I know you would like him and we definitely would love you to be here for us. I think of you often especially when one of my "children" needs help and when I speak of you it's with great appreciation and regret for our loss.

Jackie. I am sorry for the passing of both your parents. Your father and I were like brothers growing up. We went to school together, played together, and his parents (Tom Sr. and Dot) were very good to me. Your father was a very smart man, and he could have accomplished anything. My deepest sympathy.

Dr. Fore was a wonderful vet and person. He died before I got to know him too well. My dog passed on 3 Apr 22 and I am so glad that Dr. Fore was there for Jackson when I first got him and for about another 1.5 yrs. Dr. Fore made me so happy when he told me that Jacks was an excellent puppy that I picked...it was important to me that he approved. I was heartbroken when Dr. Fore died and he would have been my forever vet I trusted him completely. I've never found any vet that I trusted as much as him since he died. I could feel the connection between Dr. Fore and Jackson. I've never felt that between Jacks and any other vet we've gone to since. And we've tried many. I always will think of Dr. Fore and I pray his family is well. I wish Dr. Fore was going to be here for my new puppy whenever he comes. Dr. Fore's "Okay" meant the world to me. I'm hoping he and Jacks have bumped into each other in Heaven. God bless them both.

We will never forget this powerful and sensitive mountain of a man. Tommy was unique and incomparable. My son Ryan and I especially enjoyed playing on the same basketball court with him and will forever savor his quick move to the basket for a reverse layup. So many people counted on Tommy in so many ways and he always delivered. My favorite memory was only a few hours before a big game when he drilled into his big toenail to relieve the pressure of an injury. I watched him do that and then played with him. What a man...cerebral, physical, emotional, and committed. WOW, WHAT A GUY and WHAT A HUMAN.

Was just telling a funny story about him today to some friends and found this obituary so I have to post that I think he truly was one of the kindest, smartest, most humble and best human beings God ever made. His wife was as well, and sadly , we have lost them both. Two wonderful people forever missed. My children’s school Field trips were made more fun because he was there!!!All my love to Jackie

Dr. Fore was a wonderful man. He was a gentle giant - kind and compassionate - not only with animals but with people as well. He did everything possible to help every animal he took care of and he knew what to say to help ease the pain when a precious pet didn't recover. I often said that if I had a son, I would want him to be like Dr. Fore. He was truly the kindness person I have ever known. The world really needs more people like Dr. Fore. I really miss him.

To Dr. Fores wife and daughter, thank you for sharing Tom with us. He thought nothing of taking dogs home on weekends that were ill, including my big Kuvasz many times. But we were never treated like clients, but friends. He was the kindest, gentlest, best vet ever and the most generous with his time. We shared many good laughs through the years and my husband and I were at his funeral. Sadly, he was taken way too young and he is still remembered and cherished.

The most genuine, accomplished, humble, strong, understanding, compassionate, endearing, and fun REAL MAN we've ever known. Not only a physical giant of a man but a moral and spiritual leader. Tommy led by example. A deep thinker with a deep voice...all the right stuff. Unique in his goodness. Missed by us all.

He was a very kind and loving Vet . He truly loved our fury friends. He also loved his church & church family . One day years ago he was called by my mother a church family member about my dog Cash) had a heart attack . He called me and told me to bring the dog in right of way he treated the Cash and said that he was not sure that the Cash would live the night out. Well do to his treatment Cash lived out two full years. Thank You Dr. Tom Fore

I went to look for Dr.Fore today and found this. I am so deeply saddened by his passing. J worked with him at Ambassador for 5years in the 1990's and he is by far the best veterinarian I have ever worked with. He was the only vet to talk to people it vet to talk to people on their level, whatever that may have been. He mad is laugh all the time, especially with practical jokes! Honestly one of the finest men I have ever known. I'm so sorry for your loss.

I just called for my pet's annual visit with Dr. Fore and was told of his death. I'm shocked. He and I had discussed his illness and last we talked he said he was better. I was so looking forward to seeing him this month. What a kind, empathetic, excellent vet and man he was. This bit of the world is sadder for his absence. I know I am. God bless his memory and his wife and child.

I have already signed the guest book, but not long ago I read, Dr. Fore's daughter, Jackie's message. I never had the pleasure of meeting Jackie and her mother before Dr. Fore's passing. Jackie, I just wanted to tell you from the heart that your Dad was a one-of-a-kind person whom I have never met another such as him. Every good word one could think of pertained to him. I miss him so much as my vet and still feel like shedding tears even though I know he is in Heaven. Dr. Fore did talk very lovingly about you & your Mom. I will keep you both in my prayers.

I just found out about Dr. Fore's passing. That's what I get for not checking obituaries. The last time I saw him, he did my dog's physical. Dr. Fore didn't seem extremely well, and I wondered as I drove away, "What will I do without him?" I worked with him and the other veterinarians and staff at Ambassador Animal Hospital. I continued to go to Ambassador with my dogs, even after moving to Powhatan. I was thrilled when I learned he opened a veterinary practice in Powhatan so I wouldn't have to drive so far. He dealt with me and my dogs with dignity and respect. I felt that he and I were partners in my dogs' care. He never talked down to me like I was a brainless pet owner. And, I could trust that he knew Dalmatians. He was a very special veterinarian and friend, and I will miss him. I am sad. My heart goes out to his family. He loved talking to me about his daughter.

My ex and I were supposed to meet with Tom a few weeks before he passed, we all had to cancel due to schedules but in my heart I felt we should have been there. Dr Fore was not only my vet to my two Kuvasz both born with Cushing's/Addison's but we both became disabled about the same time. To use that word in connection with Tom is a contradiction, he carried his illness with so much humility. I never had the pleasure of meeting his wife and child I know they
were the center of his life.I can't imagine how many of us are still grieving. He was a Gift from God to not only animals but to everyone he met.

I just found out about Dr. Fore's passing and am absolutley devestated. I took my pets to him from the late 80s until I moved away. One of the many stories I remember about him is the time I took my chow mix to him for his 1st check-up (he was a rescue dog). While he was examining him he said "Gail you have a nice dog here - he's a one person dog and you're it!" And boy was he right. I've had Casey 11 years now and he is definately a one person dog! Dr. Fore always made my heart smile with his true love for my pets over the years. He will be greatly missed.

Our Sympathy goes out to Tom's wife and daughter. He was a very caring person to people and animals and a great vet to our dogs since he started at Ambassador. Tom was considered a very dear friend of ours. When I took the doggies to see him, he always had on a burgundy shirt. We had interesting and humorous conversations because I'm a Virginia and VCU fan. He advised and helped us with serious situations with his caring and understanding way. He will be missed more than any words can say. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and everyone at Claws and Paws.

Wow! I'm still in shock and am just absolutely devastated! I just learned of Tom's passing and still cannot believe that such a vibrant, loving gentle giant has left us. So many others have so eloquently expressed many of my sentiments and similarly fond memories of Tom. He was my first vet for my beloved basset, Meaghan, when I relocated to Richmond (from Roanoke) in 1991. I am amongst those who followed him after his departure from Ambassador, including his stint out in the East End/Varina and then on to Powhatan, which is a good 35-45 minute drive one way for me. But it was always worth it!!! His "bedside manner" with his 4-legged patients - along with their 2-legged humans - was unsurpassed!!! And if he wasn't available, he was very sage in knowing to which of his colleagues we should be referred (in my case, the phenomenal vets, Dr. Morgan and Dr. Kim!). His booming baritone voice will always be in my memory as will his big bear hugs every time I was at Claws and Paws. Jean and Jackie - you are both in my thoughts and prayers. You were both so important to him! Heaven has gained an ANGEL who will be sorely missed here. Cat and the "basset girls" (Winnie, Jasmyn and Rosalind - and Callie and Meaghan ATB)

We knew Dr. Fore for many years at Ambassador Animal Hospital and were heartbroken when he left there. Sadly, we could not follow him to Powhatan. But somehow, just knowing he was around brought comfort, because you knew you could call him if you needed him. For awhile, he came to our house and gave fluids to one of our sick cats. He was the kindest and best veterinarian ever, a seldom accomplished feat in this world. I truly believe he had a connection with every animal he came in contact with and that he deeply loved each one. What an incredible man. We all are better for having known him and the loss of him will be felt forever. The world is a sadder place without him. My condolences to his family, especially his beloved Jackie.

There are very few people in this world who can be described as genuine, Dr. Fore is one of those people. He took care of my family when we were in need, only knowing us for a single office visit. My heart is so heavy. I have known Tom since his first days at Ambassador, and of course, went with him to Claws and Paws. He has been a constant my cats' lives - and that is saying a lot, since Yoda had at least 30 in his 19 years! Tom was such a gifted vet on the technical side, and such a loving and compassionate person when it came to caring for the pets and their humans. He always knew exactly what to do or say in every situation. I'm sure he is caring for everyone, whether with legs or paws, across The Rainbow Bridge. Jean and Jackie, you are in my prayers.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. Fore. He has been saving animals for me since his early days with Ambassador Animal Hospital. Of course I followed him to Claws and Paws. I have one particular cat that was given no chance to survive, but Dr. Fore put him in an oxygen cage and spent the entire night looking over him. We knew Tommy as a good friend and as our vet. I played basketball with him for many years. He was a regular guy despite his great intellect. I remember how he used an electric drill to relieve a painful toenail infection so he could play in a big game two hours later. Our prayers are with the family. Tom was our vet through twenty-five year's of Boxers and I can still see him sitting on the stoop of Ambassador Animal Hospital with my wife and both of them in tears at the loss of our first Boxer. I am truly sorry to hear of Dr. Fore's death. He was my vet for many years until he moved his practice to Powhatan. He cared for my Chihuahua, Buddy, for 18 1/2 yrs. Buddy would not have made it that long without Tom. He also "talked me into" adopting two miniature dachshunds someone had left at their office. Dr. Fore was a special man. He always had a great disposition and loved each animal in his care. It was an honor to have known Tom Fore. He was our family vet for many years at Ambassador and in recent years, took the time to speak with us by phone when we had pet questions or concerns . He was not just a vet, but a friend. Dr. Fore took the time getting to know every human and pet who came before him. He attended our wedding and we were delighted to learn about our first children- due about the same time. My heart aches to know he is no longer here on earth. Our hearts ache at the loss of such a wonderful gentleman & friend. He was 'always' there for our pets and us as well. He opened his heart to our family and was the BEST Veterinarian ever! A dear friend gave me his cat to care for and he became a part of our family. His name was 'Blazer'. Because of Dr. Fore, our beloved 'Blazer' lived to be 21 1/2 years old. Dr. Fore was Blazer's ONE and ONLY doctor!! "The Blaze", as Dr. Fore loved to call him, became paralyzed 8 years ago. When we called Dr. Fore, he said, I'm on my way. He drove to our home to pick him up in his 70's Camero. When he left with our paralyzed, 21 1/2 Blazer, Dr. Fore said, "I am going to take a class cat for a class ride into eternity." Blazer now rests in peace in the Fore's back yard. For the past 7 1/2 years, he has taken care of our beloved 'Scottie' Tuxedo cat! Dr. Fore touched so many lives! He is at peace now with the Lord and Heaven has a bright Angel. God Bless you Dr. Fore. You will be missed so very much. Jean and Jackie, our sincerest condolences go out to you. Please know that you are in our prayers and we love you too. Sincerely, The French Family - (Anne, Bruce and Scottie).

I am so sorry to hear of Tom Fore's passing. He was a great man and a wonderful vet. My mother and I both took our dogs to him for years until he moved and we just loved him. My prayers are with Jean and Jackie. I remember when he told us they were expecting their daughter, he was so happy. He will be greatly missed.

Dr. Tom was amazing --he was a credit to his profession and the most caring and compassionate person. He took the time to sit with my father and cry with him when he lost his beloved dog, Smokey. When my dog, Sonny had a very bad infection, he took time out of his personal life to call us--in the evening and on the weekend to see how he was doing. He always spoke of his daughter, Jackie and was so proud of all that she does. We would see him at a band function, and he would always ask about my dad, and my dog Sonny. Dr. Tom will be greatly missed--as he was a great man.

Our hearts goes out to Jean and Jackie. There was not a better husband, father, vet or team mate than Tom Fore. His passion for life and compassion for animals will always be remembered and treasured by me, my wife and my children who came to know him as their vet. I will never forget him caring for one of our dogs late on a snowy winter night at his home in Powhatan. I will speak fondly of you forever.

Tom was one of the truly great men of our time; not great in the sense of presidents and kings, but great in the sense of Christian love and compassion for all of God's creatures, human and otherwise, and of any age. His many friends and family are indeed fortunate to have know him. He is already being greatly missed.

Until I can do it in person, a great big hug to you, Jean and Jackie. I felt so close to Tom--from his childhood as a neighbor through our many interactions at Bethany Christian Church. It will take many pair of big shoes even to attempt to cover his multiple areas of service to Bethany for his God. He's been a great leader and mentor for our youth, and they, like the rest of us, are devastated. Even from a similar experience, I can hardly imagine how you are feeling right now. Let me assure you, though, that time, the love and concern of friends and family, and the eternal love and understanding of our God will pave your way to happier days. PEACE! Hazel Heider

There is, and never will be, another person like Tom Fore. I have known him for many years, from taking care of my many pets over the years, to playing coed softball with him and watching him run one of his marathons with a knee injury. His heart and compassion are unmatched. I will miss him for the rest of my life. My thoughts are prayers are with his wife and daughter.

Tom was an absolutely amazing human being. He was totally one of a kind. He was so full of life - so much FUN to hang out & play around with! He was so full of LOVE for everyone. Love wasn't just a feeling in his life - he understood REAL LOVE is ACTION. He had boundless energy when it came to doing for others. He did so, so much for so many. He was constantly thinking about how to help others. He was such an incredible role model to me....and to all of us. I loved him very much & he will be sorely missed......my heart goes out to Jean & Jackie. I'm praying for God to give you the strength to continue on - and for your souls to feel peace. I love you so.

We were so sorry to hear of the passing of your husband, Tom. We have been gone from Bethany for 22 years off in Big Rapids, MI, but Bethany will always feel like home to us. It must have been a shock to lose him so suddenly. Our prayers are with you, Jean and Jackie, and all the family. Tom was loved by so many! Love and Sympathy, Donna and Chuck Drake and Family

My heart breaks for Dr Tom's family. He was such a great man. I met him by accident and was sad that he had to leave the office near me. He took great care of many of my animals. Helped me through those hard choices we have to make for our fur babies. I always felt sad for him having to sit on that ratty stool but he just loved it and told me he would be very upset if it disappeared. He always made me laugh and will be sorely missed

I don't even know what to say...Tom was a wonderful person. He was the first Vet I ever worked for and he was always teaching and didn't mind a million questions. I learned so much from him. He was goofy, kind, compassionate, passionate and had a obsolutely fabulous laugh. I wish I had taken the time over the years to let him know the large footprint he left on my heart. Jean, you and Jackie are in my prayers!

DR.FORE WAS A WONDERFUL PERSON AND VET. LIKE MANY HAVE SAID HIS PERSONALITY AND COMPASSION WERE UNIQUE.... HE WAS A MENTOR TO MY SON PHIL OLENIC. PHIL WOULD NOT BE WHERE HE IS TODAY IF IT WASN'T FOR DR. FORE. PHIL'S MANNERISMS AND DEDICATION TO THE FIELD WERE MOLDED BY DR. FORE'S HANDS. DR. FORE WAS INSTRAMENTAL IN GETTING PHIL INTO TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY WHERE HE ATTENDED VET. SCHOOL. DR. FORE WILL BE SORELY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM. MAY GOD BLESS & KEEP HIM UNTIL WE ALL MEET AGAIN IN HEAVEN.

Our thoughts and Prayers are with Dr. Fore's Family & Loved Ones at this time. Dr. Fore was indeed "one of a Kind." Emphasis on the KIND. He was there for my family and our beloved animal family for decades and he will be sorely missed. His family was very blessed to to have him and my heart can't imagine how much they miss his physical presence. I am sure though that they and every life he touched will continue to feel his loving presence forever.
