It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Thomas Henry Jessie Sr., who left us peacefully on September 4, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on October 31, 1947, Tommie was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. Tommie is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Gloria; his sons, Tommy Jr. (Karen) and Brian; his daughter, Melinda (Gary); sister, Suzanne (Burton); and sister-in-law, Judy. He was a cherished grandfather to Jason and Trevor (Hannah); and a proud great-grandfather to Hayden, Verity, Royalty, Scarlet, Kinsley, Weston, and Mia. Tommie had a distinguished career, working at General Electric, Reynolds Metals, and Elliott & Associates. He was known for his passion for fishing, hunting, and his enthusiasm for cars. His dedication to his family was matched only by his love for these cherished hobbies. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend, whose warmth and spirit touched the lives of all who knew him.
A service to celebrate Tommie's life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 3 p.m., with visitation from 2 to 3 p.m., at Affinity Funeral Service, 8074 Mechanicsville Turnpike, Mechanicsville, VA, 23111. Tommie's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and the countless stories shared by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
