June 3, 1954 - June 7, 2025
Vivian "Vickie" Diacont Leber, 71, of Mechanicsville, went to her heavenly home on June 7, 2025. She is survived by her mother, Nancy Diacont; her husband of 51 years, Lewis Leber, Jr., who remained faithfully by her side until the end; her children, Tamsyn "Tammy" Cheek, Jessica Lafferty and her husband Jarrett, Jason Leber and his loved one Alix Dobbs; her grandchildren, Aidan, Lucas, Hadley, Shelby and Olivia; her sister, Nenie D. Baker of Harrisonburg; and brother, Charles "Chuck" E. Diacont Jr. of Beaverdam. She was preceded in death by her loving father, Charles E. Diacont, Sr. in 2003; and an older sister, Helen Marie Diacont.
Lewis and Vickie were high school sweethearts who dedicated themselves to each other in every way, every day. Vickie was a stay-at-home mom for many years and considered this the greatest vocation of her life. After that, she went to work for Hometown Realty, where she made many wonderful friends, notably Ms. Kathy Parker. She loved her morning coffee, afternoon sweet teas, Hanover tomato sandwiches, cross-stitching, country music, true crime stories, beating everyone at Jeopardy, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, beloved daughter and sister, a fierce-loving mother (in-law) and a gentle grandmother, and she will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, June 15, at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 8014 Lee-Davis Road, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, June 16. Interment will follow in Signal Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
