Warren Wright Obituary

WRIGHT, Warren Edith 'Edie', 76, of Powhatan, VA, departed this life on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Edie, a devoted Christian, was born February 8, 1948, to Pastor Warren Smith and Corine Smith in Georgetown, GA, the last of eight children. Her parents and seven siblings preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her life and her legacy her husband, Dr. Delmar P. Wright; and their only child, Heather N. Wright; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other family members, and friends. Edie was a retired postmaster. Most significantly, with her husband, Delmar, Edie co-founded the Greater Victory Christian Church in Powhatan on May 22, 2011. She was an anointed gospel singer, a music minister and a music director for numerous churches during her life.

A private funeral service with attendance by invitation only will be held to celebrate her life. A private viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service. Associate Pastor Johnella Jackson-Jones, officiating. Dr. Allen W. Pannell, Pastor, First Saint Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Rustburg, VA, eulogist. Arrangements by the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland, VA.
