William Gould Obituary

William Gould

William Joseph Gould, 72 years old, of Midlothian Va., passed away on November 5th, after a fight with pancreatic cancer.

William was born on March 10, 1953, to William J. and Catherine M. Gould in Philadelphia, Pa. After William graduated from Central High School in 1971, he went on to study Business at Penn State University. After school, his job took him to different places to live, Louisiana, and the mardi gras, California, his home on the beach, Arizona, fun in the dessert, and then finally to Midlothian, Virginia where he settled down. Here, his neighbors, the Palmese, family included Bill in all their family gathering. Bill had found a home.

He is survived by his sister Catherine (Gould) Bennetsen, husband Stephen M. Bennetsen, his sister Maryjo (Gould) Kretzinger, husband Ernie Kretzinger, and his brother, Lawrence J. Gould, wife Elizabeth (Hoffman) Gould. He is also survived by his niece Claire (Bennetsen) Maguire, her husband, William Maguire, and 4 children, Isabelle, Christopher, William and Evelyn Rey Maguire.

Services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home on Ashbrook Pkwy. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Midlothian, whose members have been so supportive.

Yesterday

Bill was good people. The smartest computer tech I ever encountered. A Grat sense especially when one busted on his cats. Shared a few bourbons. I will miss him. Gone to soon.

Bill was a good neighbor and friend. I´m so sorry to hear of his passing. I still have a picture on my refrigerator of the cat, Jerry, that we shared. I have many very fond memories of our many conversations. He is missed.
