William "Willy" Hall

Hall, William "Willy" Thomas, 83, of Rockville, VA, went to his eternal home on September 6, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends, and was welcomed into Heaven by his beloved wife of 54 years, Mary Carter Hall. He is survived by and lovingly remembered by his daughter, Nancy Hall Nelson; grandson, Houston Carter Nelson; two sisters-in-law, Faye Carter Pruitt (Dick Pruitt) and Barbara Ann Carter Atkinson; and many nieces and nephews. Willy was an avid fisherman who especially enjoyed casting lines at Virginia Beach and the Chesapeake Bay. His other hobbies included restoring vintage tractors, working on his Model T Ford, and showcasing them at Rockville's "Field Day of the Past," as well as feeding wildlife near his home. He had a keen sense of humor and was exceptionally intelligent and gifted with amazing organizational skills, which were put to good use during his more than 30 years with Philip Morris Company. Both Willy and his wife, Mary, were active members of Westhampton Baptist Church in Richmond before Willy later joined Goochland Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 12th, 6 to 8 p.m., at Bennett Funeral Home, West Broad. A service celebrating his life will be held at Bennett Funeral Home, West Broad Street, on Friday, September 13th, at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Dr. Joy Heaton officiating. Interment to follow at Westhampton Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Goochland Baptist Church on Manikin Sabot Road.
