Some people go through life without making much noise. Bill was a concert band! The man lived. I cannot tell you how much I/we will miss him. He was like a father to so many of us. You always had to be on your p's and q's around him or he would "getcha"! Billy, I figure you played a practical joke on St Peter at the golden gates and are sitting next to the Lord plotting something now. Rest in peace Hick. You are the man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the Hickman family. Cherish his memory. Peace.

Betty and family, I am at a loss for words as there are not enough words to express the impact Bill had and will continue to have on others. I not only lost a church family member but a true family member too. He didn't have to have the same DNA to be a part of the family. He was truly a genuine man with a heart of gold. I will miss his hugs every Sunday and miss him wearing his sunglasses during church because he forgot his regular ones in the car. I will miss his crazy sense of humor and his beautiful voice as he and mom sang every Christmas Eve. I know mom cared a great deal about him and in her many talks to the community about her deployment, she always mentioned how Hickman got her bags embroidered so she knew which ones where hers. Hickman's memory/legacy will live on and I am only a phone call away if you need me or mom. Love you!

There will never be another "Hickman" as his classmates of the 1952 John Marshall High School graduating class knew him. He was always the one who would brighten up the room when he appeared. You always knew when he was on the scene and his classmates delighted in seeing him knowing that he would be joking about something. We are all blessed to have known such a kind and delightful man over these past 60 years or more. I know the angels in heaven are rejoicing at his being there with them now as his classmates have rejoiced at his being here with us over the years. God bless you Betty for sharing "Hickman" with us.

I guess God needed a true gentleman and a softball player for his team. You, Mr. Hickman, was his choice. I enjoyed all the fun times we had playing with and against each other and I thank god I got to know you over the past 20 plus years. I pray everday that my two sons will have a "Bill Hickman Type Role Model" in their life just like me. I'll never forget you. May god bless.

Betty and family, please allow me to express my sorrow for the passing of Bill. As you know, he was a close friend of mine who taught me everything I know about hunting and I looked to him as a second father. I, as well as you, will miss him deeply but know he is in heaven and will look out for each of us as only Hickman can and would do.

Rest in Peace Hickman, Tbone will miss you buddy!!!!!
