William White Obituary
William Bramble White
December 31, 1959 - March 17, 2026
William Bramble White, known by childhood friends and family as Billy and those from adulthood as Bill, passed away on March 17, 2026, after years of ongoing health struggles. Born in Richmond, VA, on New Year's Eve, Bill was the second of four boys who were collectively notorious for being neighborhood tricksters and entrepreneurs, even hosting their own "zoo" with their pet skunks and squirrels. His early years were spent at St. Christopher's School, where he was an avid runner and swimmer. A proud Eagle Scout and member of Troop 400 who went on to study agronomy at Virginia Tech, Bill's love of the outdoors and animals never dissipated. Up until his last days, he still felt most alive when outside tending to a grill, bonfire, or his chickens. He had a true passion for modern technology and its capabilities-often spending weeks, months, and years brainstorming new ideas. Bill was known for his distinctive sense of humor and a cackle that could make anyone laugh along with him- often driven by reactions to his obscure hobbies and interests, including playing the didgeridoo or watching the worst sci-fi movie he could find.
Bill is survived by his children, Anne Batliner (husband, Jason Batliner) of Dallas, TX and Sutton White (wife, Taylor White) of Midlothian, VA; his grandchildren, Huntley Batliner (5), Fulton Batliner (3), Ellis Batliner (1) of Dallas, TX and Palmer White (9 months) of Midlothian, VA.; his brothers, Briscoe White of Richmond, VA, Chris White of Irvington, VA and David White of Crested Butte, CO; his mother, Betty Brown of Richmond, VA. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben White.
Bill's children will be hosting an intimate celebration of life for close friends and family on Sunday, March 29th. Please contact a family member for details on location and time. In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations in his honor to go to the Justice Reform Foundation to help those who are wrongfully incarcerated.
