Winfred Sutton Obituary

Winfred E. "Win" Sutton Sr., died peacefully at his home February 22, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Freda M. Sutton, his daughter, Marsha Tennant and her husband, Randy; his son W. E. "Dub" Sutton Jr.; his granddaughter, Alice Paidas; his grandson, Brian Sutton all of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and his grandson Mark Sutton of Richmond. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held March 5 at 2 p.m. at Grove Avenue Baptist Church, of which he was a longtime member. Mr. Sutton was a WWII veteran serving in the European Theater under General Patton and fought during the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of Woodland Heights Masonic Lodge #345 AF & AM and the Scottish Rite. Interment will be private.

Mr. Sutton was a wonderful man I always enjoyed seeing and talking to him and his wife every time they came to Ukrop's.He will truly be missed by me.I work at Ukrop's in the cafe/coffee bar.
