Arthur "Lee" Leroy Huffman III, age 57, of Wilmington, passed away after a fearless battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at his home.
He was born the son of Arthur "Art" Leroy Huffman Jr. and Pamela (Stingley) Walker on March 23, 1968, in Washington Court House, Ohio.
During his youth, he participated in musical theatre, discovering early in life his love of music and talent for bringing joy to others.
After graduating from Hillsboro High School, he attended the University of Cincinnati, where he enjoyed being a member of the Theta Chi Fraternity.
Lee proudly served his country in the Army National Guard, during which time he was deployed to the Aleutian Islands, AK.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 1161 and the Highland County Coon Hunters Association. H
e was a man whose effortless wit made you feel at home, and whose steadfast love as a Father, Son, Grandson, Brother, Uncle and Friend could be felt in everything he did. For more than a decade, Lee hosted a Wednesday night poker game, a tradition that brought laughter, stories, and a sense of belonging to everyone who attended.
His 35-year career path ranged from the family Auction Business to the Medical Supply Industry, to Newspaper Publishing and, most recently, he was Vice President of The Hometown Welcome Advertising Company headquartered in Sturgis, Michigan. This role allowed him to fulfill his goal of seeing the entire USA, while enjoying camaraderie and connection wherever he went.
He was a proud graduate of Leadership Clinton, always eager to strengthen his skills and give back to his community.
When faced with cancer, he remained remarkably positive, choosing to see his diagnosis as an opportunity to help others. His selflessness led him to participate in multiple clinical trials and extra tissue sampling in the hopes of helping future cancer patients. His courage and generosity became an inspiration to all who knew him.
Lee is survived by his children, Cory (Chelsey) Huffman of Covington, Drew Huffman of Wilmington, and Beth Huffman of Denver; mother, Pamela (Allen) Walker of Hillsboro; sister, Cassi (Carl) Kilpatrick of Beaufort; step father, Mike Walker of Hillsboro; step mother, Debra Huffman of Antioch; half-sister, Serenity Neal of Lordstown; step bother, Tony (Paula) Crawford of Xenia, and several cherished nieces and nephews.
Lee was preceded in death by his father, Art Huffman and siblings, Crystal Dawn Huffman and Michael Wesley Walker.
