David E. "Gene" Harbert Sr., 86, died peacefully at his home in Wilmington on Saturday, April 19, 2014, surrounded by his family.
Gene was born Feb. 6, 1928, to Delbert and Bethel Barnes Harbert in Lumberport, W.Va.
His wife, Margaret, survives.
A private graveside service for family is planned Military honors will be provided by the American Legion.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Gene's memory be made to Community Care Hospice, P.O. Box 123, Wilmington, Ohio 45177.
The Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
