Everlena Burks born on February 14, 1949, in Gary, IN


Everlena passed away at the age of 76 on September 14, 2025, in Portage, IN. 


She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Cooper; son, Henry L. Cooper Jr.; mother, Ethel D. Burks; father, Prince Johnson and brothers: Leroy Burks, Delmos L. Burks, Larry Johnson, Johnie L. Burks Jr and Nathaniel Burks; sister. Jeanette M. Atkins.


Everlena is survived by her sons: Lemuel (Desheila) Burks, Rue (Angela) Cooper; one daughter, Danyell Cooper; two granddaughters: Jasmine Simmons, and Jade Moore; two grandsons: Charles and Charleston Pickett; one great granddaughter, Paytyn Jackson; three great grandsons: Carter Heath, Coi and Charleston Jr. Pickett; three sisters: Peggy Thompson, Reva M. Burks – Flood and Jurnieack Cross; special lifetime friend, Othella Bolton and a host of other relatives and friends.
