Lynnette Shanton Obituary
Lynnette Faye Shanton, 33, passed away Friday, June 23, 2017.
She was born to Dean Kiesling and Dawna Jo (Walker) Kiesling in Hillsboro on Nov. 19, 1983.
Lynnette attended Good Shepherd Wesleyan Church in Jackson and was a member of the Ohio Education Association. She worked as a special education teacher and for the Gallipolis City Schools at Green Elementary.
She is survived by her parents, Dean and Dawna Jo Kiesling; husband, Sheldon Shanton; daughters, Shaelyn and Rylynn; brother, Jarrod (Sarah) Kiesling; sister, Lydia (Doug) Showell; grandmothers, Dawn Walker and Ruby Kiesling; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Randy and Brenda Shanton; sister-in-law, Scottie Ann (Charles) Jenkins; brother-in-law, Shane Shanton; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday, June 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the University of Rio Grande Fine Arts Center in Rio Grande.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at the University of Rio Grande Fine Arts Center with pastors Rick and Andrew Christman officiating. Burial will follow at the Tick Ridge Cemetery in Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Christian Life Academy Food Program, 10595 Chillicothe Pike, Jackson, Ohio 45640; or Samaritan's Purse, 1180 Wesley Ave., Suite 200, Xenia, Ohio 45385.
Services are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home.

I met Lynnette at Holzer CCC. While receiving chemo, myself,i was struck at the peace, sweetness, and the genuine kindness she had for others. Her bravery inpired me not to be so concerned with my own problems, and made me focus on better things. She truly was an angel, here on earth doing God's work of compassion for others.

I am so sorry for your loss. I went to Dr Keisling as a child, and one thing was very clear. Family and God came first for the doctor and his family. I am sure she is at peace now, but she was so young. My heart breaks for all of the family and friends. You are in my prayers.

Lynette's life was marked by one of love, the leading of the Holy Spirit, grace, and virtue. She touched so many within her family and outside the family. Her sphere of influence was large and drew all she encountered closer to Christ. We love her. We'll surely miss her. However, she is now with her Heavenly Father and will never feel the pain of struggle again. As we mourn such a significant loss we also celebrate her new home. Dean, Dawna Jo, Jarrod, Lydia, and family, we love you all and will pray for peace, strength, and healing in this difficult time of loss.
