Wilbur R. Helterbrand, 70, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2015 at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash.
He was born in Highland County on July 28, 1945, the son of the late James Russell and Dorothy (Miller) Helterbrand.
Wilbur is survived by his wife, Barbara (Wigginton) Helterbrand, whom he married Aug. 30, 1965; one daughter, Rita (Roger) Dailey of Piketon; one son, Wayne (Shawna) Helterbrand of Hillsboro; four grandchildren, Derek (Elena) Leeth, Brandon Dailey, Tristen Helterbrand and Emmarae Helterbrand; one brother, Glenn (May) Helterbrand of Hillsboro; one sister, Carolyn Garen of Hillsboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Wilbur was a lifelong farmer, logger and an avid coon hunter. Wilbur and Barbara owned and operated the Carmel Market where he was best known as the "Pizza Man".
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow in the Marshall Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

I am very sorry to hear about Wilbur's passing. He was a good man. I remember seeing him often at the old Carmel store many years ago and he always seemed like a nice person. The family has my condolence at this sad time in your life. May God watch over you and keep you.
