Alicia Binando Obituary

Alicia Nicole Binando, age 21, of New Hanover Twp., Pa., passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, following a courageous battle with Budd-Chiari Syndrome.

Born in Harrisburg, Pa., she was a daughter of Janet Marie (Bradbury) Binando and the late Gregory J. Binando.

Alicia was a 2009 graduate of Boyertown High School, where she ran cross country. She then attended Lock Haven University. Most recently, she was employed by Walmart in their Bakery Dept.

She was a member of St. Columbkill Church, Boyertown, Pa.

Survivors include her mother, Janet Marie (Bradbury) Binando and her companion Barry Marburger of Gilbertsville, PA; one sister, Gabrielle Marie Binando of Gilbertsville, PA.; Alicia's companion, Stephen Gilbert of Bechtelsville, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Teresa Binando of Indiana, Pa as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte Street, Pottstown, Pa., and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at St. Columbkill Church, 200 Indian Spring Road, Boyertown, Pa. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Father Marty Kern will officiate. Interment will be in St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities, 57 N. Franklin Street, Pottstown, PA 19464, or to the A.L.S. Association – Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 321 Norristown Road, Ambler, PA 19002. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.houckgofusfuneralhome.com
