Anthony Fondots Obituary

Anthony J. Fondots, Jr., 84 of Conshohocken, a retired bus driver, died Thursday, April 21, 2011 in Regina Nursing Center of Norristown. Born in Conshohocken on October 23, 1926, son of Anna (Ferrara) and Anthony Fondots. Anthony has lived in Conshohocken most of his life. he was a member of SS Cosmas & Damian RC Church of Conshohocken. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, where he received Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal. He was a retired bus driver and drove a bus for Schuylkill Valley Bus and Auch Bus Company. He was a member of VFW Post 1074 of Conshohocken, and the Andrew Lanutti Veteran Post. Anthony is survived by a son, Michael A. (Karen) Fondots of Conshohocken; two grandchildren, John A. and Andrea M. Fondots; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Angelo Fondots, and john Fondots; six sisters, Mary Ellen "Molly" Porecca, Margaret Granese, Ann Schaffer, Rose Schaeffer, Rita Fondots, and Irene Proietto. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, April 25 at 10 a.m. from SS. Cosmas & Damian RC Church, 209 W. Fifth Ave. and Maple St., Conshohocken with Fr. Gasper A. Genuardi officiating. Friends may call Monday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in St. Matthew's Cemetery in Conshohocken. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Regina Nursing Center, 550 East Fornance St., Norristown, PA 19401.
