Arthur Yost Obituary

Arthur Yost, Jr. of Norristown Arthur Willard Yost, Jr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his residence in Norristown, PA. He was 61. Arthur worked as a security guard for the Montgomery Co. Courthouse for 25 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Norristown, PA and the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club. Arthur enjoyed golf, darts, fishing and racing. Born in Norristown, PA on September 6, 1953, he was a son of the late Arthur Willard Yost Sr. and Dorothy “Dottie” (Buckingham) Yost. Surviving is his loving family including his wife, Katherine M. (Douglass) Yost; a son, Brian and Danielle Yost of E. Norriton; three daughters: Kelly Yost of W. Norriton, Ashley Yost of Bridgeport and Katherine “Katie” Yost of Norristown; two grandchildren, Tony Jr. and Benny Garvey; three step-children: Stephanie, Angie and Michele Leister; eight-step grandchildren: Nick, Jacob, Erick, Julien, Ben, Alex, Beto and Mila; two sisters, Donna Young of Graterford and Debra & Thomas Kern of Mays Landing, NJ; four nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, David Young. The Yost family would like to thank Jane and George Miller for their hospitality and care for opening up their home in our time of need. Thanks also to Heartland Hospice for their care and support. Arthur’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 12 noon at the Norristown Maennerchor Club, 920 Haws Ave., Norristown, PA. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday from 11 to 12 noon, at the club. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Arthur’s memory to the Norristown Maenner-Chor Club, 920 Haws Ave., Norristown, PA 19401. I had the privilege of working with Art at the county. I will always remember his infectious smile & laugh. We had a lot of good talks, especially about how he loved his children. Very sad to lose such a kind man. My thoughts & prayers are with his family.

Art provided security to us here at the HSC for many years. He was a kind and helpful man, and we have missed him. I am so sorry to hear of his passing, and pray that the family will be comforted by their memories of Art.
