Carl Mattiola Obituary

Carl J. Mattiola, 62, of Kimberton, died peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018, with family by his side in Key West, Florida. He fought a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Norristown on May 30, 1955, he was the son of the late Carlo and Marie Mattiola. A graduate of Bishop Kenrick High School, Carl received football scholarships and attended both University of Pittsburgh and Temple University. Carl was an apprentice under his father, Carlo. He was an entrepreneur, owning his own businesses specializing in residential and commercial real estate development and carpentry. He owned a restaurant (Crazy Carls) where he put his love of cooking to use in the community. Carl was a passionate fisherman and enjoyed spending time on the water. He also loved family get-togethers, often taking family members out ocean fishing. In more recent years, Carl spent his time with his dog (Mister Wilson), gardening, tending to his chickens and cheering on his Philadelphia Eagles. Most of all, Carl loved his family. Carl is survived by his children, Carl Jr. (wife Jennifer), Christopher (Rochelle Nailon and granddaughter Myla), Stephanie (Jeremy Pavia), Jordan and their mother, Barbie Mattiola. Also brothers, Paul (Margaret) and Michael, sisters Barbara (husband Rick) and Maria (Andy) and girlfriend Joann Rocchino. All are welcome to call on the family on Friday, January 19th between 9:00 and 10:00 AM at Visitation BVM, 196 North Trooper Road, Norristown, PA 19403. Immediately following at 10:00 AM will be a mass. In lieu of flowers, Carl’s family request that donations be made to https://bethematch.org.

To the Mattiola family, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
I attended high school with Carl and to say that he is one of a kind would be an understatement!
I will always remember his presence when he entered a room- smiling, joking and ever so caring underneath his unstoppable humor.
He reached out to others and was a loyal friend, indeed.
Carl will be missed by not only me; but so many others.
God rest his soul as memories shared with him live on.
I am just seeing this and am heartbroken for all who knew and love him.
Truly,
Cheryl Pugliese DeLucia
