Edith S. Hardy passed away peacefully with her family by her side on October 19, 2021. Born in Norristown on September 18, 1925 she was the beloved daughter to the late Verda (nee Oelschlager) and William Morris Stout. Upon graduating Norristown High School, Edith went on to Cedar Crest College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1947. She later married the love of her life, the late Charles “Ray” Hardy, Jr. and their family blossomed. She was a devoted wife, loving mother to Charles R. Hardy III (Tracie Baker) and Carol H. Stewart (Steven J. Talyai), dear grandmother to William C. Hardy, Carrie Sicoli (Jonathan), Marie H. McKinley (Michael), Sandra Lynn Stewart, MS,PA-C, great grandmother to Scarlett and Henry, and sister-in-law to Katherine Stout. Along with her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her siblings William Morris Stout, Jr. (Gertrude), Dorothy S. Poust (James), Walter Hallowell Stout (Nancy), and David Ralph Stout. In her free time Edith loved to ballroom dance, listen to music, play cards, embroider, and most importantly keep her house clean and in order. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Relatives and friends are invited to Edith’s Life Celebration on Tuesday October 26, 2021 from 10 am to 10:50 am followed by her Funeral Service at 11 am at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike. Interment to follow at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
