Leona T. Anasiewicz

Leona T. Anasiewicz, nee Konoza, passed away at Abington Memorial Hospital on July 22, 2013, surrounded by family and friends. She was 97 years old. As a young woman she worked in the wool industry and later assisted her husband in the management of his auto repair business, Johnnie's Auto Service, which operated for many years in Bridgeport. She was the oldest living member of Sacred Heart Church and a former member of the Rosary Society, as well as a member of the Polish Club in Manayunk. She enjoyed crocheting and cooking. Born in Manayunk, she was the loving daughter of the late Blanche (Faksienska) and Michael Konoza. She was the devoted wife of the late John J. Anasiewicz, whom she will join in heaven. She was predeceased by brothers Michael, John and Edward and sister Sophie Chest. She is survived by two loving daughters, Joanne (Charles) Mink of Kissimmee, Florida and Patricia with whom she lived with for the past 14 years. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, friends and her faithful canine companion, Casey. Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass on Saturday, July 27, 2013, 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 120 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, Pa., 19405 and her viewings on Friday July 26 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday July 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Bernard S. Gutkowski Funeral Home, 305 Jefferson Street, Swedesburg, Pa., 19405 where there will be a recitation of the rosary at 9 a.m. Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery.
