Mary V. Boyle (nee Bangert) of Norristown passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014. She was 100 years old. Born Oct. 11, 1913, in Conshohocken, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (nee Lynch) Bangert and the beloved wife of the late Paul "Barney" Boyle.
Mary was a longtime employee of the Apex Dart Co. of Norristown. She enjoyed local church bingo and other games of chance and was a frequent visitor of the Atlantic City casinos.
Mary is survived by her two grandchildren, John D. Gambone Jr. and Karen Marie Gambone; her great-grandson, Brandon Douglas; and her two great-great-grandchildren, Devon Douglas and Jadalyn Douglas; as well as her sister Martha Phillips; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia A. Gambone; her brother, John Bangert Jr.; and her four sisters Betty Hoffman, Catherine Phillips, Dorothy Hadfield and Anna Horning.
Relatives and friends are invited to share in Mary's Life Celebration service on Tuesday March 4, from 10 to 11:20 a.m. at Boyd-Horrox of East Norriton 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. Her funeral service will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. Augustine's Cemetery in King of Prussia. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's name can be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 2501 Oaklawn Ave., Suite 435, Dallas, TX 75219.
