Mary Romano Obituary

Mary E. Romano, age 94, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She is survived by the love of her life, Charlie Angelo Romano, they celebrated 66 years of marriage. She was born in Phoenixville on March 8, 1919. Mary's family includes her daughters, Marynell 's husband,Tim Haney and Floss 's husband Mike Bilella, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Sister Assumpta Marie Quinn, IHM, Elizabeth Love, Winifred Higgins. one brother James Quinn. Predeceased by three sisters, Alice Boyle, Helene Eliff and Gertrude Gallagher. Mary was always proud to be the "oldest" of seven sisters and one brother. She was devoted member to St. Francis of Assisi Church. She was well-known for entertaining Genuardi's customers at the deli. She was a longtime member of the trooper senior citizens. Mary will be forever remembered for her gregarious sense of humor, glittering red hair and her smiling Irish eyes. Heaven just got a little funnier. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Tuesday, July 2nd at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Norristown. Burial St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 9 to 10 AM at the church. Funeral arrangements are by the Volpe Funeral Home, Norristown. VolpeFH.com 610 - 275 - 2583

I will always remember Mary with great fondness...she lived next door to my mother-in-law and always treated me with kindness. She and Charlie came to my wedding, adding to the joyous occasion! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I will always remember her happiness & amazement when we had the entire Camden Pipe & Drums group play on our front lawn, across the street from hers, one St. Pat's Day after the parade. So sorry for your loss Mr. Romano & family.
