Theresa Arena Obituary

Theresa L. "Tessy" Arena, formerly of East Norriton and Paoli and a longtime resident of Delaware, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2013, with her loved ones at her side. She was 93 years old.
Tessy was born in Norristown, Pa., on April 30, 1920, and was the daughter of the late Pellegrino and Vincenza (Guardino) Arena.
She was a 1938 graduate of Norristown High School. She served as an accounting clerk with the Montgomery County Tax Office prior to joining Unisys Corp.(formerly Burroughs), where she provided over 20 years of service within the Aerospace and Gov't. Defense Units.
Was recognized with several outstanding achievement awards and enjoyed working with the U.S. Gov't. contractors and personnel.
She was devoted to her family and was selfless as she cared for her elderly family members without hesitation for many years.
A former member of Holy Saviour and St. Titus churches of Norristown, member of Red Hatters Society, Women's League of Voters,and church choirs.
In later years, enjoyed the comforts of being cared for as a resident at Brandywine Assisted Living, Rehoboth, Del., and Atlantic Shores, Millsboro, Del.
Theresa is survived by her brother Gasper A. (Catherine M.) Arena; a sister-in-law, Clara Arena; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Samuel (Molly), Joseph H., and Stephen J.(Maryann B.) Arena; and her sisters, Fannie (James) Dippolito , Eva Arena, and Mary (Bill) Syster.
She will be remembered as a woman ahead of her times with a strong will and mind, business savvy, a bright smile, a tender heart, and a beautiful voice.
Deeply regarded and cherished, she will be missed by all she touched in her personal and professional life.
Relatives and friends invited to her prayer service and committal Tuesday June 4, 12 noon St. Patrick's Cem. Maus., DeKalb Pk., East Norriton.
In lieu of flowers donations in Tessy's memory may be made to Missionary Sisters of Charity 630 DeKalb St. Norristown, PA 19401.
