Walter Marsh Sr.

1925 - 2017

Walter Marsh, Sr. passed away peacefully on Monday, November 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family at the Rose Court at Maris Grove in Glen Mills, PA. He was 92. Mr. Marsh was a former resident of King of Prussia, PA. He worked as a manager for the former General Electric Company in the aerospace division, King of Prussia. Walter was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church in King of Prussia. He was also a member of the Sacred Order of the Golden Dragon and a former vice-president of the King of Prussia Indians Football Team. Mr. Marsh was a US Navy veteran of WW II, serving from 1943 to 1946 as a Radarman Second Class. He served in the Pacific and European Theaters of Operation and earned the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal. Born in Williamstown, NJ on July 25, 1925, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna (Zeitz) Macharnuk. He was the husband of the late Marie H. (Witzel) Marsh. Surviving is his loving family including four sons: Walter Marsh, Jr. of Australia, Frank J. Marsh and his wife, Sonya, of Stafford, VA, David Marsh and his wife, Shelley, of King of Prussia, PA and Barry R. Marsh and his wife, Kimberly of King of Prussia, PA; a daughter, Karen M. Bannan of E. Coventry, PA; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, William and two sisters, Mary Clayton and Nellie Uhniat. A Prayer Service will be held at The Bacchi Funeral Home & Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St. (Rt. 202), Bridgeport, PA on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 6:30 pm. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 5 to 6:30 pm, at the funeral home. Walter will be buried at sea with military honors at a later date.
