Antonios "Tony" Ioannis Stratoudakis, 82, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love from his wife of 48 years, his children, and his grandchildren.Antonios was born in Chalepa, Chania, Crete, the youngest of five siblings, whom he adored, and who provided him a role in life he loved, as an uncle.Tony made the United States his home in 1969 where he met the love of his life, Marie, and together built a strong family, home, and business. Tony was a Master Craftsman and used his gift for furniture making and refinishing to open Tony's Furniture Refinishing in Vallejo, CA which he was proud to have run since 1974. His humor and love for people was felt by everyone - family, friends, customers, and strangers. Tony provided a joyful energy to every situation, and always offered wisdom and perspective that motivated you to move forward in life with your head held high. He was a fighter. I first met Tony when I was 18, working at Sears, that was 1970. Tony was the kindest man I have ever known, always supportive, kind, and funny. I have kept in touch all these years, sometimes just stopping by the store with coffee for a chat, a chat always turned into an hour..... Marie I am so sorry for your loss, he will be missed by many.

Those who have passed on and those who are still alive in this world all share in a mystical and supernatural communion of life, prayer, and brotherly love. It is this relationship that enables them to assist each other, and it was God, in His love, who established things in this way, desiring that we should all be saved through one another´s help. Life continues after death. Through our common love in Christ, the members of the Church that have died maintain spiritual communication with those of us that remain on earth. This love links all the faithful into a single whole. It can do this because there is one Church, which has Christ as its head. All of us together are the body of the Church as its head. All of us together are the body of the Church, and each one of us individually is a member of this body. Antony, for you the gate of heaven and paradise has opened, the mystery of death has been illuminated. With the certainty of the Resurrection of your soul, our sorrow became a hope. May your memory be eternal, and your soul close to our crucified and resurrected Christ, will pray for all of us. Nikos L. Moraitis

I am saddened to hear of Tony's passing. Tony refinished and reupholstered several pieces for our family. He was a lovely gentleman and did beautiful work. What a loss to his family and community. "Joyful energy" is the perfect description. His work and skill were a rare gift. His care for people was extraordinary. It always made my day when he took my hand and called me "Dear Lady" when I came into his store.

Some years ago, my late Mother and I have work done at his shop: his skill and craftsmanship was outstanding. I look at his work now around my living room and den. He enjoyed talking to his customers, and my fond memory is walking around his business, wanting to 'buy this or that'! That Was A Treat! God Bless and Rest In Peace.
