Celso Barrameda Obituary
Celso Encelan Barrameda, age 86, passed away on Friday, Aug. 7 in Sacramento. The second oldest of six children, he was born in Calao, Sorsogon in the Philippines on July 7, 1929. Married to Loreta Esparas Barrameda for 55 years, they have four married children, Cecil (Angie), Lani (John Shallman), Ferdinand (Marlene) and Sheila (David Enos); 11 grandchildren, Ryan (Kylie), and Celina Barrameda, Ariana, Nina, Ben, and Jonah Shallman, Olivia, Zachary and Griffin Enos, Anna and Amelia Barrameda; three great grand-children, Otto and Ike Barrameda and Delany Duran.
He was lovingly known as "Lolo" to his grandchildren. Celso was retired from the U.S. Navy after 20+ years of service. He went on to work at Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo for another 20+ years. An avid sports fan (especially baseball), Celso also loved gardening, fishing, and watching animal programs on television; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was immensely proud of each and every one of them. DAD/LOLO, WE WILL ALWAYS CARRY YOUR LOVING MEMORY IN OUR HEARTS. Rosary will take place at 10:30 a.m., with a Memorial Mass immediately following, on Friday, Aug. 21 at St. Basil's Church in Vallejo. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests making a donation in Celso's memory to the Disabled Veterans National Foundation: www.dvnf.org/donors/dvnf-honor-wall/

An amazing man who I had the pleasure of knowing for many many years.... I never saw Uncle Barr in a bad mood or even express any anger toward anyone. He and my dad were best friends for as far back as I can remember. Now they can see one another again.
Uncle Barr... you touched many lives with your wit and quirky humor.... you always had a way with words..... often you said alot with just a few words and that "look" on your face when you did was memorable!
By the way, I still have the scar from that one of a kind striper jig that caught me and a huge striper!!
We're all going to miss you!
