Darrin Brooks Obituary
Darrin Wayne Brooks, a Vacaville resident passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
Darrin is survived by his wife of 21 years, Wendi; son, Brandon; daughter, Chelsea; mother, Charlene Pettit Brooks; brother, Bryan (Karyn); aunts, Patricia Braun (Bart), Linda Gephart (Bill), nieces, nephews and cousins.
Darrin was born and raised in Vallejo, on Jan. 11, 1971 to Charlene Brooks. He graduated from Hogan High School in 1989. He married the love of his life, Wendi Sue Ganz, on June 19, 1993.
Darrin worked for many years as a lead cable installer for several different cable companies. Most recently, he worked for the Vacaville Unified School District. He loved his family deeply. Darrin enjoyed life and was a devoted father, husband and son. He was a lifelong fisherman, who told great fish stories, that was a highlight of being around him. Drawing, soccer, the water, outdoors and animals were a few of the many things that he also enjoyed. His sense of humor and smile brightened every room he walked into, while his frequent humorous actions touched the hearts of those he loved.
Darrin's love of life was apparent by his generosity and sincerity to his family, friends and those he did not know. As a man of few words, he had his own way of expressing his love. Darrin was caring, kind and happy-go-lucky. He is truly loved and will dearly be missed. Rest in Paradise!
Services will be held at Skyview Memorial Lawn. Funeral and Life Celebration will be on Sept. 3, at 2:30 p.m, with reception to follow. On Sept. 2, visitation will be held from 4 to 6:45 p.m, vigil and rosary from 7 to 8 p.m. Flowers or financial contributions suggested for the family.

Life was too short for our dear, always smiling Darrin. He touched so many lives, especially the Volturno's.Ever since Charlene brought her bundle of joy home he was family and there was no second guessing that. He grew up with a wonderful loving family who brought smiles to all he met. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. And he loved his family dearly.You will be missed by all who crossed your path. You brought our family joy and love, and memories we will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and yours. God Bless you and may you rest in piece. All our love, Stefanie, Susan, and Jim (who will never forget all their fishing trips) Stef wanted us to tell you how many she loves him. Remembering with you a life so important to so many. Praying for friends to comfort you, faith to uphold you and loving memories to help you smile again. There was always a special place in my heart for Darrin and thinking of the early years and what a wonderful person and family man he became. Words cannot express the sadness we feel ! Darrin was such a kind person! We have fond memories of him coaching our sons soccer team! We will always have the memory when he dressed up as the Easter Bunny!! We will always remember his love of fishing! He was taken from us too soon but we have wonderful memories of him! My love and prayers to Charlene, Wendi and family. What a beautiful obituary for a kind hearted individual. I remember his joy for life as a child. It sounds like he carried it through adulthood.
