Diane Gumataotao Obituary
Diane Yvonne Gumataotao of Vallejo and Benicia, 53, also known to loved ones as Aunty Di or Di-Di, and to her grandchildren she was Granny, was called to heaven on March 16, at Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo. She was born on Oct. 18, 1960 in Oakland.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Victoria Gumataotao; brother, Vincent Gumataotao; and nephews, Anthony Gumataotao and Christopher Gumataotao. Diane is survived by her children, Daniel Butts (Maribel), Dana Butts (Katrina), Monique Scott, and Micaela Scott; grandchildren, Marcelo and Marquez Butts, Jeremiah Gumataotao-Manuel, and one on the way; siblings, Antonette San Nicolas (Frank), Francisco Gumataotao (Debbie), George Gumataotao, Paula Tabanera (Vincent's fiance), Vivian Gumataotao, Linda Gumataotao, and Edie Galiste (David).
Diane spent most of her time taking care of her family. Her hobbies included spending time with loved ones and friends, cooking, attending LCF Church and bible study, listening and dancing to music, especially at concerts, crocheting, shopping, and going for walks. Some of her favorites included turtles, vanilla lattes, and the color green. Her beautiful soul will be most cherished and remembered for her endless selfless acts and love she provided to others.
Viewing will be held on Friday, March 28, at Skyview Memorial, 200 Rollingwood Drive, Vallejo from 4 to 9 p.m. Pastor Phil Green will officiate the funeral service that will take place on Saturday, March 29, at Lighthouse Covenant Fellowship, 1175 Church St., Benicia at 11 a.m.

To Diane's children, grandchildren, Vivian, Linda, to the young lady whom sang for her Aunt Di Di celebration, and especially "Miss Edie-G": Diane Yvonne Gumataotao was looking down from heaven smiling at the way you all presented her Home-going Celebration to family and friends. Although we all were emotionally sad and rejoicing at the same time -- you all filled the day with nothing but unity and LOVE. Well done family!

Missing you Auntie Di...Victoria got in bed yesterday and said she was sad. I asked her why, and she said, "I miss Di Di"...her little heart is missing you just like me. I still cant believe that you are gone. You were my Aunt, you were my 2nd mom, you were my friend, you were my neighbor...we did everything together when our kids were little. We love you and miss you so much. I know you're no longer in pain, so that makes me feel a little better. I will never forget all our time we spent together, our talks, our rides, and so much more. I hurt for your presence but my heart hurts the most for all my cousins, your babies, especially my Cae Cae, your baby girl. I will try my hardest to be there for them whenever I can because I love them just as much as I love you...missing you badly...Kat

God be with you. Diane was a wonderful person who loved her family and friends. I know she was so proud of her children and was absolutely madly in love with her grands. I, too shall miss her and long to hear her laughter. It hurts badly to lose someone you love, but let us rejoice because we know Di was saved and she is laying on our Saviour's breast. As growing up Di and I have shared so much laughter together. Growing up in Vallejo you become close to other families, the Gumataotao are like an extension of our, Losing Diane is like losing your own, She was a beautiful person, My thoughts and prayers go out to the rest of the family may God hold Diane close while comforting those left behind.
