Donald Wayne Frey
1931 - 2021
Word has been received of the passing of Donald Wayne Frey of Poulsbo, WA, formerly of Vacaville and Vallejo, CA at the age of 90. Don passed away September 26, 2021 at St. Michael's Hospital in Silverdale, WA. Don was born in Watertown, SD to Herman and Clara (Madsen) Frey on June 14, 1931. He married Lillian (Sally) Herrmann of Faulkton, SD on June 19, 1955.Don worked for Standard Oil in South Dakota. He moved his family to Vallejo, CA in 1962. He worked for Standard Oil of CA and had his own service station, Don Frey's Chevron, on Springs Road in Vallejo, CA for twenty-five years. He worked for Napa Auto Parts after retiring from his station.He and Sally moved to Vacaville, CA in 2006, then to Poulsbo, WA in 2021. They enjoyed their retirement and their four grandchildren.He is survived by his wife, Lillian (Sally); daughters, Brenda (Richard) DeMartini and Donna (Peter) Waderich; grandchildren, Jonathan (Megan) Waderich, Scott DeMartini, Stephanie DeMartini and Sarah (Cody) Simrell; brothers, Erwin, Harlan, Charles and Larry; sisters, Clarice Jacobson, Marilyn Frey and Arlys Schlimgen; and several nieces and nephews.Don was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Melvin and Bill and sisters, Kathi and Anita.Don was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Vallejo, CA and the Huron Masonic Lodge in Huron, SD.He was well known for his generous and compassionate heart.No services are scheduled at this time. I Loved Donald Frey so much. Being a flower girl at his and Sally's wedding was always a beautiful memory. He was ALWAYS so kind, loving, and compassionate. He will be missed by many people. Love to his entire family. From from his niece. Vicky Porfilio
