Dorothy Jane Paulson (Herrington) April 22, 1954 - Sept. 15, 2017 Dorothy Paulson passed away unexpectedly with her family by her side on Sept. 15. Dorothy, known to her friends as "Dottie," was born April 22, 1954, in Jackson, MI, to William Preston and Peggy Elizabeth Herrington. They moved to Napa, CA, when she was a young girl, and she graduated from Napa High in 1972. Dorothy may have been small in stature, but her persona was larger than life. She walked into every room with a smile and an infectious laugh, always ready for a good time. She found her calling when she became a mother, raising daughter, Honora, and son, Preston, who meant the world to her. Dottie's love for her children helped her to remain strong in the face of life's challenges. Everything she did, she did for family. In the early 2000's, she went to work for Chevron as a Safety Supervisor. It was there that she met her husband, Mark Paulson. He swept her off her feet, making her feel like Cinderella, and giving her a fairytale ending to her life. That fairytale became complete when daughter Honora gave her the gift of granddaughter, Cheri. Her love for bright and beautiful Cheri knew no bounds. Dottie's second love was the San Francisco Giants. She was a die-hard fan who would never miss a game. She loved to tell the story of when she met her hero, Willie Mays, and she proudly wore her jersey and ballcap at every opportunity. Though she left us too soon, Dottie lives in the hearts of her friends and family through all the happy memories and the love that she shared. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Mark Paulson, who left us in July. She is survived by her children, Honora and Preston; granddaughter, Cheri; stepson, Robert Paulson; and sisters, Diane Gilstrap, Donna Saia, Honora Chavez, and Hilma Coker. Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Rockville Cemetery, 4219 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield, CA. Reception to follow.
