Gloria Brown-Coleman Obituary

Gloria Brown-Coleman, age 70 passed away after a long illness surrounded by her family. Gloria was born in Nacogdoches, TX., and moved to Richmond, CA., in 1945 where she attended various schools.
A Foster parent for over 30 years, Gloria retired from Hanna Boys Center of Sonoma, CA. in 2006 after 20 years of service.
Gloria is survived by her children, LaTinia Johnson Richmond, CA., LaConta Coleman (Kristi) Poulsbo, WA,  Lydia Embry, American Canyon, LaNette Embry, Richmond, CA., LaTasha Jones, Rodeo, CA., and her siblings, Pearline Moore (Earnest) Vallejo, Joyce Hoolf (Dobbie), Richmond, Larry Olden (Mary Lou), Salinas, Sabrina Robinson, Dublin, Lorraine Wade, Richmond, Aaron Olden, Pinole, Susan Grant (Rudy), Concord, Pearlie Brown (Eric) Ames, TX, Tracy Brown, Gloria Pickens, both Highland, TX, Elaine Moore (David), Connie Webb (Lonnie) both Beaumont, TX., Lola Herman, Liberty, TX., Larry Brown, Thad Brown, both Raywood, TX., Link Brown II, Liberty, TX., and sister-in-law, Doris Olden of San Jose, CA.; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; 12 foster children; a host of nieces and nephews, along with her companion, Mr. Clifford Spencer.
Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Link Brown and Ivory Olden, and siblings, Sharon Moses Kenneth Olden, Sr.
Ms. Gloria will be remembered for her contagious smile along with her impeccable flair for fashion and will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Special thanks to the Sutter Cancer Center of Berkeley, CA., along with Alta Bates Hospital - Oncology Department and staff.
Viewing is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 5 to 8 p.m., with Quiet hour from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Rose Manor Funeral Home, 3331 Mac Donald Ave., Richmond, CA.
Homegoing service is scheduled Thursday, Feb. 21, 11 a.m., at Community Alliance Church, 2375 Aberdeen Way, San Pablo, CA.

To the family of Gloria Brown-Coleman, Gloria was one of the most endearing people that I have ever met in the Bay Area. Her infectious smile was so genuine and heart-warming. My prayers are with her many loved ones and she was truly a blessing to everyone lives she touched!!!

When I got this news I broke down and cried. I knew Gloria was sick but this was too much to bear. She will be missed dearly. Her love of fashion and style and grace was admired by any one who new her. I will miss this graceful woman. May she rest in peace now. Love you dearly Gloria.
