Jim and his partner would always stop to talk to me when they found me out in the valley repairing phone cables. I even repaired the phone line at his house. I last saw Jim at the Glory Hole when it was overflowing. What a great man. I will always remember that great smile. Cathy

I am saddened to learn of Jim's death. He was a fine man. I got to know him when I served in the California Assembly from 1996-2002, representing Solano County. He drove me in the 4th of July parades for several years in his restored "Marine" jeep. We had good conversations and lots of laughs. He loved his family, his Vacaville community and his country. Thank you for your service to your country Jim and for your decency to all.

The measure of a man is not only his accomplishments but also how deeply he is loved and admired by those who know him. It is clear that Jim succeeded hugely in all of these measures. The seeds of excellence and humanity that he planted in others will no doubt continue to flourish for generations to come. Our condolences and heartfelt sympathy are with his family. May he RIP and enjoy the blessings that await him in heaven.
