Jose Botello

Aug. 27, 1941 - March 30, 2018 Jose "Joe" Botello, 76, a lifelong resident of Vallejo, passed away peacefully at his home, following a long illness. Joe was born in Texas and moved to Crockett as a child. His family then moved to Vallejo where he graduated from Vallejo High School in 1960. Joe served in the United States Army from 1961-1964. He briefly worked at Selby Works then Mare Island Naval Shipyard as a crane operator for over 30 years. Joe was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed sharing his self-restored 1960 Corvette at local car shows. He was a member of Boyz Under the Hood Classic Car Club for many years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2007. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Paul) Fitzpatrick, of Berkeley, and granddaughter, Liesel Fitzpatrick; daughter, Cynthia and grandchildren, Daniel, Nicole and Victoria. Visitation will be held 4 to 9 p.m., with Vigil services at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 8 at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, April 9 at Saint Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church, 925 Sacramento St., Vallejo. Entombment will follow in All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
