Laura Louise Bighorse Johnson, 82, passed away Wednesday, September 22 at her home in American Canyon surrounded by her family following a long battle with cancer.Laura was born in Pawhuska, OK and was a long-time resident of American Canyon. She attended Sequoyah Indian School in Tahlequah, OK and worked as an Administrator for Solano County Social Services. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who fondly called her "Granny" and "Great Granny."She was preceded in death by her mother, Francis Davis Bighorse; her eldest son, Lloyd Johnson Jr.; her grandson, James Johnson Jr.; and her brothers, George, Robert and Franklin Bighorse.Survivors include her brother, Charles (Beverly) Bighorse of Wagnor, OK; daugher, Susan (Scott) Farmer of Vacaville, CA; sons, Jimmy (Mechelle) Johnson of Poway, CA and David (Miracle) Johnson of American Canyon, CA; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog "Isabella."Private family services will be held and inurnment will be private at Sunrise Memorial Cemetery, Vallejo.Cremation and arrangements entrusted to the direction and care of Twin Chapels Mortuary, Vallejo. So sorry to hear of Laura's passing. The Johnson's were my neighborhood friends on Los Gatos/Palo Verde Way back in the day. Lloyd Jr Johnson was a pal to me when we were kids. Bless you Laura and my condolences to the Loved ones.
