Marie G. Bjork

1946 - 2022

On Monday, March 21, 2022, Marie G. Bjork, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at the age of 75 after a battle with multiple myeloma.Marie was born to Lorenzo Nieva and Mercedes Raposa Nieva in Oas, Albay Philippines on April 20, 1946. On May 20, 1972, she married James Arnold Bjork. They raised one daughter, Edith M. Bjork-Kreiser. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Gregoria, Fidencia, Nemia, and Gloria; as well as her brother, Vicente. She is survived by her husband, Jim; daughter, Edith; grandson, Aaron Maze; and granddaughter, Jasmyn Bjork-Kreiser; as well as numerous nieces and other family members in the Philippines, Alaska, Australia, and the U.S.Marie loved to cook and enjoyed seeing the results consumed by her family and friends. She was an avid bowler for many years and earned many awards. She enjoyed fishing, and most of all gardening. She raised many beautiful flowers and shared the products of her vegetable garden with many of her friends and neighbors.Visitation is on Monday, May 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Bryan-Braker Main Chapel. Mass is on Tuesday, May 3 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Church. A graveside service is on Tuesday, May 3 at 12:30 p.m. at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
