Michael Paul Koepke, 60, of Coeur d'Alene, ID, passed away on Aug. 21, after a long battle with cancer. Mike was born on Jan. 31, 1953 in Augusta, GA, to Gene and LaJune (Baeth) Koepke.  Mike was raised in Vallejo, by his mother and step-father, Charles Kersthold. He graduated from Hogan High in 1971. On June 14, 1975, he married Laura Beatty in Fairfield. He worked for the City of Fairfield until 1989 when he and his family moved to Bremerton, WA. There he worked for the PUD#1.
In 2012, Mike and Laura moved to Coeur d'Alene, ID to be close to their daughters, grandson and niece.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters, Jen and Jamie; grandson, Gavin Michael; mother and step-father, LaJune and Willis Howle of Livingston, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Kevin Powers of Auburn, CA; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Paul Cappa of San Ramon, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Christie Kersthold of Vallejo, CA; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Henry and Hazel Koepke; father, Gene Koepke; and step-father, Charles Kersthold. A private memorial service will be held.
