Agnes "Aggie" Halloway (née Allen), 96, passed away peacefully on Nov. 17, 2025, in Wilkes-Barre, the city where she spent her early life.
Agnes was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Mountain Top. She graduated from GAR High School, Wilkes-Barre.
Agnes was a devoted wife to her late husband, Peter Halloway, and a loving mother to three daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Marie Byrne and Alice Kondzielski.
Her daughter, Joanie, preceded her in death, as well as her brothers, Jack, Billy, and sister, Betty.
Agnes's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Matt; Missy and husband, Ryan; Chris and partner, Sarah; Austin and wife, Mikaela; Jason; Ali and partner, JeanPaul; Ashley; Katie and husband, Andrew; Ali; and Andrew; great-grandchildren: Faelen Joan, Angel James, Bryce, Riley, and Sonny, who will always remember her candy store. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Catherine, and brother-in-law, Charles.
A woman of many talents and enduring spirit, Agnes had a deep love for decorating and gardening. Her home reflected her creativity and care. She was a great cook and gardener and loved clothes and shopping.
Agnes was known for her intelligence and thriftiness — qualities that served her well throughout life's challenges — and she had a good sense of humor. Those who knew her will remember her practical wisdom.
May Agnes's memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
