Anna Stefancin Obituary

Anna Marie Stefancin, beloved wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, at Allied Services Hospice in Wilkes-Barre. She was 93 years old.

Born in Swoyersville on Jan. 18, 1932, Anna was the daughter of John and Mary Stash Havach. Throughout her life, she was a dedicated member of the VFW women's auxiliary and Holy Family Parish.

Anna enjoyed a fulfilling career as a sewing machine operator. In her retirement years, she cherished traveling with her husband, Bill, volunteering in her community, quilting beautiful creations, tending to her garden and spending time with loved ones.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, William "Bill" Stefancin; her brothers: John, Joe, George, and Mike; and her sisters: Mary and Susan.

She is survived by her loving nieces: Eileen, Madeline, Michaeline, Marlene and Susan; her nephew, Leonard; and many dear friends and extended family members.

A visitation will be held in her honor from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hugh B. Hughes Funeral Home, 1044 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort.

The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from Hugh B. Hughes & Son Inc. Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Parish, 574 Bennett St., Luzerne, Pa. Interment will be held following the Mass at St. John Cemetery, Courtdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Kitchen (PO Box 1088, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18703) in Anna's memory.
