DALLAS — Carolyn L. Johnson, 95, of Dallas, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021.

She was born in Wilkes-Barre on March 9, 1926, the daughter of the late Roy T. and Mary Davis Lewis.

Carolyn graduated from E.L. Meyers High School, Class of 1944. Upon graduation, she began a 40-year career with the Bell Telephone Company of Pennsylvania.

Carolyn was a member of, and affiliated with, many organizations. She volunteered with the Back Mountain Memorial Library and its annual summer auction, the Pennsylvania Quilters, and the Welsh Bethel Baptist Church through its Vacation Bible School and Sunday School activities.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by husband John "Jack" Johnson; sister, Romayne Brown; and brothers, William V. Lewis and Morgan V. Lewis.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Johnson and Nancy Jane Johnson, both of Dallas; sister, Mary Ann L. Johnson; many friends; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of Routes 29 and 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor Zach Chamberlain, Welsh Bethel Baptist Church, Wilkes-Barre, officiating.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.

Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hanover Township.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Wilkes University General Scholarship Fund, 84 W. South St., Wilkes-Barre.
