Cassie Mericle Obituary

Cassie Jon Mericle, 22, of Trucksville, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2009, at home.
She was born in Danville, on July 9, 1986, and was a daughter of Thomas J. Mericle of Edwardsville and Linda Fox Mericle, with whom she resided.
Cassie Jon graduated from Dallas High School in 2007 and currently attended the Day Development Program in Kingston.
She was a member of the Lehman United Methodist Church and the Cross Creek Community Church, Trucksville.
Because of her great love of music, the Make-A-Wish Foundation granted her a trip by train to Branson, Mo., and watching “The Lawrence Welk Show” on television was one of her great joys.
She also played Challenger Little League from the age of 3 to the age of 18.
The many lives Cassie touched leave her presence feeling blessed.
Cassie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Jean Mericle; and her maternal grandmother, Katherine Fox.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandfather, Allen Fox Sr., of Lehman Township; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Cassie’s family would like to thank all of the home health agencies and nurses that gave such personal and tender care to Cassie for the past 22 years.
Her funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of Routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, with Pastor David Martin of the Cross Creek Community Church officiating. Interment will be in the Kocher Cemetery, Ruggles. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to Challenger Little League, 183 Carroll St., Pittston, PA 18640.

Cassie touched the hearts of everyone who knew her. I will always remember Cassie jumping and clapping or how beautiful she looked with her hair done, all dressed up and ready to go out. How excited she must be to be with Jesus. Linda, may God comfort you and give you peace.

Little Angels

When God call children to dwell with Him above, we mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love.
For no heartache compares with the death of one child who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild.
Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to his fold, so he picks a rosebud before it can grow old.
God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few, to make the land of Heaven more beautiful to view.
Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try, the saddest word mankind knows will always be "Goodbye."
So when a child departs, we who are left behind, must realize God loves children, Angels are hard to find.

God Bless you all!
