Charles Patrick Gallagher, 82, of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Columbia, Md., Fredericksburg, Va., and Ocala, Fla., passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2025.
He was a 1960 graduate of St. Nicholas Catholic School, received his bachelor's degree from King's College and master's degree the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as a FMF Corpsman. He was employed by General Services Administration/Federal Supply Services and a Project Director for JECO in Riyadh, Saudia Arabia. Charles retired in Ocala, Fla., enjoying time with his friends, fishing and target shooting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Frances Gallagher, and his brother, Thomas Gallagher.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marilyn Gallagher; two daughters, Molly Hamilton (Neil) and Meghan Murillo (Tony); four grandchildren, Ava McClung, Andrew Hamilton, Adrian Murillo and Enzo Murillo; sister, Marie Zelinka (Jack); two nieces, Donna Bealla (Andy) and Devon Kuniegel; one nephew, Jack Zelinka (Tricia); and one sister-in-law, Lucille Buck (Tom).
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 20, in Oakey's East Chapel with Pastor Rodney Spears officiating. Interment will be held in the National Memorial Cemetery at Quantico in Triangle, Va., at a later date. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Condolences may be shared with his family at www.Oakeys.com.

My husband Gene and I were friends of Chuck and his wife Marilyn while we were neighbors in Ocala. We went to different outings that were held within the community. Whenever asked Chuck would help out a neighbor. He has been missed here in Stone Creek.
