Chris Cimakosky, 59, of Hanover Township, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 9, 2025, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center.
Born Feb. 2, 1966, in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Robert and Rochelle Modrovsky Lohman. Chris was a loving husband, dedicated father, and very involved Pop-Pop who will be greatly missed.
He was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing, or just sitting and watching the birds and wildlife outside. It was rare not to see Chris in "camo." Because of this, he was subjected to constant teasing by his daughters: "Do you have anything else in your wardrobe?" When not outdoors, Chris enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren, creating lasting memories.
He graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1985 and proceeded into a career in carpentry. Previously, Chris was a volunteer firefighter with both the Warrior Run and Hanover Township Fire Companies.
In 1989, Chris met the love of his life and soulmate, Danielle. They married on May 23, 1993, and have been married for 32 years.
Chris is survived by his wife, Danielle, Hanover Township; his daughter, Alissa Everetts and her husband, Troy Everetts, Nanticoke; daughter, Courtney Cimakosky, Nanticoke; and the lights of his life, his three grandchildren, Troy Jr. (TJ), Adelyn, and Harrison. Pop-Pop will be missed by his little buddy, TJ, his granddaughter, Adelyn, otherwise known as "the boss," and the newest addition, Harrison, who enjoyed seven short weeks with his Pop-Pop.
He is also survived by his stepbrothers, Michael (Tracy) Lohman and Nicholas (Wendy) Lohman; father-in-law, Joseph Impeciati; sisters-in-law, JoeAnn Comunale (fiancé, Spiros) and Christina Skelton (Eric); nephews, Dalton and Bryan Skasko, Carmon and Santino Comunale; and several nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Ruth Modrovsky; mother-in-law, Harriet Yakalavich and her husband, Michael Yakalavich; stepbrother, Robert Lohman; as well as uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Family and friends are invited to attend Chris' visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke.
