Christopher Crawford Obituary
WAYNE, N.J. — Christopher John Crawford, 33, of Wayne, passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, New Jersey, following a long, courageous battle with leukemia.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, Chris was a son of Leonard and Shirley Grady Crawford, Sweet Valley. He was a graduate of Lake-Lehman High School, class of 1999, and Penn State University, Wilkes-Barre campus.
In the spring of 2001, Chris met his soulmate, the former Jennifer Kocher. They were married Aug. 11, 2007.
He was employed as a field engineer for Bechtel Corporation.
Chris was an incredible person who was plagued by many illnesses but lived his life to the fullest. He was heavily involved with THON, loved collecting guns, camping, watching Penn State football and Capitals hockey games. Chris loved to travel and be adventurous – he often said that "bad decisions lead to the best stories."
Most of all, Chris loved his family, friends and dog. He always had a huge smile and an even bigger heart.
Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are brothers, Leonard Crawford III and his wife, Tammy, Hershey, Joshua Crawford and his wife, Megan, Harveys Lake; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Barbara Kocher, Wilkes-Barre Township; sister-in-law, Jody Kocher and her companion, Bryan Roche; brother-in-law, John Kocher; sister-in-law Jacqualyn Kocher; nieces, Anna Crawford and Emma Buzard; nephew, Preston Roche; his beloved bull terrier, Dutchess Jay; and too many friends to list.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 474 Yalick Road, Route 118, Dallas. The Rev. Charles Grube will officiate. Interment will be made in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Harold C. Snowdon Funeral Home Inc., 140 N. Main St., Shavertown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to THON, 210 HUB, University Park, PA 16802.

Nothing prepares you for a loss of a brother or a son! Chris was an inspiration to me, with the determination he had with his fight with cancer. We were our own personal cheerleaders!! With lots of love! My deepest sympathies to your family!
