NANTICOKE — Damien Michael Yanora, 33, of Nanticoke, died on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2021, with loved ones at his side, at Geisinger Medical Center, after a battle with Leukemia.

Damien was the son of Brian Dennis and the late Patricia A. Yanora. He was a graduate of Elmer L. Meyers High School, where he played football. He was happily employed as a contractor and worked tirelessly on home renovations for various NEPA residents.

During his short life on earth, Damien enjoyed drawing, celebrating the holidays with family and friends (especially Halloween), collecting Dragon Ball Z memorabilia, being a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan, and spending time with his life partner Rebecca and beloved black cat Smokey.

Damien enjoyed making people laugh and reminiscing on childhood memories with his cousins. He was kind-hearted, giving, and very funny, despite the many road blocks life had placed in his path. He will be missed dearly, and forever, by his partner, family and friends.

He is survived by the love of his life, Rebecca, his caregiver and second mother, Colleen Yanora, and grandmother Patricia Yanora. He will be missed by his Aunt Maureen, Uncle Kenny, and Aunt Colleen. He leaves behind cousins Austin Yanora, Brittany Yanora, Mercedes Yanora, Rylee Beres, Tyler Mullen, Alexis Yanora and Sam Yanora.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Louis Yanora, and his mother, Patricia Yanora.

Visitation is from 4- 6 p.m. and Funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021, from the Lehman Family Funeral Service Inc., 689 Hazle St., Wilkes-Barre, with Deacon Bill Beam officiating.

Gary and I spent many hours with Damien and the Yanora family during our years of involvement with the Meyers Football and weight lifting program. He was a great "kid" who appreciated everything. Will keep him in my prayers.

Damien, You were such a great friend to me. Also, the best neighbor ever. I will remember your creativity, your love of decorating, your carpentry skills, your love for Smokey ,your cat, how hard you fought your leukemia battle with the help of the love of your life ,Your Becky. I saw in your actions how much you really loved her. We will all miss you so much. Go Eagles! Don't worry, I will be here to take care of your Becky. You are forever loved. I'm glad that you are no longer suffering and that you are with your Mom who you missed so much. Your job now is to be a busy guardian angel. Watch over all of us. We will see you again some day!!!!!!!! Love you, Buddy! XO
