Daniel John Cronan Jr., 48, passed away peacefully at his home in Wilkes-Barre on Thursday, April 24. 2025. He faced his challenging battle with lung cancer with immense courage and an unwavering spirit.
Born Jan. 7, 1977, Daniel exemplified what it meant to embrace life fully and wholeheartedly. Throughout his life, Daniel was a devoted and caring father, a loving son, a cherished brother and uncle, and a loyal friend. Family was at the heart of everything he did, guiding him through both joyful moments and difficult times. He took great pride in owning and managing his own business, DC Automotives, an ATV shop where he shared not only his expertise but also his passion for adventure and the open road. Known for his warm demeanor and ready smile, Daniel had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, turning customers into friends.
Above all, Daniel's identity as a father was paramount. His two sons, Daniel and Joseph, were his pride and joy, illuminating his life with love and laughter. Their bond was unbreakable, and even during the toughest times, Daniel's devotion never wavered; it remained as steadfast as the mountains he loved to ride.
This past year brought unimaginable heartache for Daniel. In January, he lost his beloved mother, Sandra Koons, a loss that left an indelible mark on his heart. Mere weeks later, he suffered a debilitating stroke, which posed a significant challenge. Tragically, not long after, he faced the sorrow of losing his son, Daniel Cronan III, who was only 22 years old. This series of events tested his spirit deeply, yet Daniel drew strength from his love for his surviving son, Joseph, and the family that continued to support him. He showed remarkable resilience, embodying a love that pushed him to remain a guiding light for those he cherished.
Daniel's passions extended beyond family; he had a deep love for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and classic Camaros, unleashing his adventurous spirit with every ride. "Bike Week" signified a yearly celebration for him, a gathering where he could immerse himself in the culture he adored, surrounded by like-minded souls who shared his enthusiasm for the thrill of the open road. Riding was not just a hobby; it was an integral part of who he was — a reflection of his adventurous heart. He also shared a strong bond with his dogs, Onyx and Chase, who provided him with unwavering companionship, comfort and joy.
Daniel was preceded in death by his dear mother, Sandra Koons; his stepfather, Eugene Koons; his sister, Sandra Cronan; and his beloved son, Daniel Cronan III.
He is survived by his devoted son, Joseph; his ex-wife, Kristina — who shared many precious memories with him; his girlfriend, Kerry; his niece, Deschene; his nephews, David and Daniel; as well as his great-nephew and little buddy, Preston; all of whom will carry his memory forward with love.
A celebration of his life will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at The Screwy Moose Saloon, located at 462 W. State St., Larksville, Pa.
Daniel will always be remembered for his fierce loyalty, boundless love and ability to light up even the darkest rooms with his infectious smile and laughter. His spirit, love and cherished memories will remain alive in the hearts of all who had the profound privilege of knowing him, offering comfort and solace to those who mourn his loss.
Private arrangements are by George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, located at 105 N. Main St., Ashley.

Traveled thousands of miles with Dan. Rode to Laconia where we climbed Mt. Washington on our bikes. Daytona numerous times when Dan could always be counted on to properly trailer the bikes and share in the driving. Ocean City Maryland many times where we all shared a room, some spirits, and a whole bunch of memories. My final advice: "Dan, let's hope there are no speed limits as you rip through the clouds."

Kristina, Joseph, Kerry, and family. We are so very sorry for your loss. Dan was a great guy and most definitely had an infectious smile. He enjoyed laughing at my husband´s projects he started 20 years ago. He would laugh and say when did you say it would be done. It is always a sad time when the world loses such a good soul. Much love to you all. Godspeed Dan.
