PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — David Baer, 57, of Panama City Beach, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015.
Born on Jan. 5, 1958, in Nanticoke, David was a son of Shirley Carey, of Nanticoke, and the late Glenn Baer, Benton. He graduated from Nanticoke High School in 1976.
David was the beloved husband of 37 years to Susan Caruso Baer; loving father of sons, Jason, and his wife, Aimee, Old Bridge, New Jersey, Jeremy, and his wife, Samantha, Northport, Alabama. He is also survived by granddaughter, Ava Grace Baer, Northport; brother, Jeff Carey and wife, Lisa, Forty Fort; sisters, Judy Delaney, Nanticoke, Nancy Carey Mesh, Wilkes-Barre, Debbie Herman and husband, Paul, Huntington Mills, Donna Green and husband, Scott, Harrisburg, and Glenda, Benton.
David was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard, 109th Field Artillery Regiment, Kingston. During his 20 years of service, David was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Pennsylvania National Guard Gen. Thomas J. Stewart Medal, the Pennsylvania National Guard MG Thomas R. White Jr. Medal and the Pennsylvania Governor's Unit Citation. David was a member of the F&AM Masonic Lodge #332 in Nanticoke, where he held an appointed chair and was also an active visitor of the Panama City Beach Lodge #358.
David was a retiree of Procter and Gamble, Mehoopany, and his family previously resided on Prospect Street, Nanticoke.
David and Susan recently retired and relocated to Panama City Beach from Nanticoke, in order to enjoy the weather and the beach. David had become accustomed to gulf seafood, southern hospitality and country music. David loved to fish and bike, and he was an avid photographer. He was loved by all of his family and will be deeply missed.
A memorial Mass will be held to celebrate his life 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015, in St. Faustina Parish Annex, 1030 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. All are welcome to attend.

Sue,Jason,and Jeremy. I have no words to say to you about your Husband and Father and Someone I can Honestly my Friend. Dave was a big help to the Wrestling Program when you wrestled at Nanticoke. He was very proud of both of you. I'm very sorry that I can't be there with you, but I believe you know why. If there is "ANYTHING" I could do for any of you please don't hesitate to call me. I had the pleasure of knowing Dave through work. He had helped me numerous times with actives for our site's fitness center, he not only cared about his health but also improving the health of others!
