ALLENTOWN — Diana M. (Serafin) McCarthy, 70, of Allentown, passed away Aug. 28, 2015. She was the beloved wife of Richard J. McCarthy, to whom she was married for 49 years this past November.
She was a homemaker who loved the beach and finding treasures at garage sales. Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of Robert E. Serafin and the late Elaine H. (Hertus) Serafin. She was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.
She is survived by her father and husband; brother, Robert and his wife, Tina Serafin, Slatington; sisters, Elaine, wife of John Haury, Port Orange, Florida, Roberta, wife of Ronald Heiser, Slatington; and brother-in-law, Earl Pugh, Emmaus; niece, Jennifer Pugh-Stephens; grand-niece, Sarah Stephens; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Ann's Catholic Church, 415 S. Sixth St., Emmaus. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Schantz Funeral Home P.C., 250 Main St., Emmaus.

I too met Diane at the gym. She was always laughing and having a great time hanging out with her gym friends. Such a kind, sweet lady. I'm so very sorry for your loss. May God bless you and comfort you and hold you in His loving arms.

Diana will be missed a lot. She was a kind, funny and a good friend. We exercised at HYF gym and after the session we could talk for hours. Going to miss those talks with her. With loving memories, Mary Ann & Al Kuberski

She was kind, funny and just a lovely person.
