Dorothy Kempa of Swoyersville passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at her home.
Born in Chester, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Elizabeth Jarrett Swett.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by United Pants Factory in Swoyersville. Dorothy was well known to all that knew her as "The Card Lady." She sent all types of cards to her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew; sons, Mark and David; infant daughter, Debra; brothers: Frank, Donny, Dick and Ted; and a sister, Jeanie.
Surviving are a son, Steve; a sister, Betsy Sweet; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A private funeral will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a children's charity in Dorothy's name.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville.
