MINERS MILLS — Edmund Frank Pienta, 77, of the Miners-Mills section of Wilkes-Barre, died July 19, 2019. Funeral service 9:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Yanaitis Funeral Home Inc., Plains Township. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. in Ss. Peter and Paul Parish, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township. Friends may call 5 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

I have just received notice of Ed's passing. I attended Ss. Peter & Paul grade school with Ed, graduating in 1955. Ed and I were fellow altar servers at Ss. Peter & Paul Church, being partners for many Masses and other services including weddings, funerals and various devotions. Ed was one of my best friends, and he helped make my growing up in Plains one of the best parts of my life.
Thank you for your service to our country, may you rest in peace, and may you enjoy the company of our Lord, the angels and saints that you truly deserve.
